After a tough loss to the women selling ice cream on the second task we were asked to run a dog spa in episode 3.  James decided to step up as our project manager because of his poor sales performance last week.  The last thing I wanted to do was work for James!  This guy thinks about things so long it hurts.  If you can’t already tell, James thinks he is a bit better than everyone else because he spent a couple hundred grand on a couple pieces of paper from Georgetown and Duke.  The reality is James has a hard time walking and chewing bubble gum at the same time.

On the way to our location I announced that I have grown up around dogs and spent a ton of money having my dogs trained and boarded over the years so I was familiar with this type of operation.  I made a suggestion that we needed to find a way to communicate with the dog owners and let them know in real time what we are doing with their dog and how their dog is behaving.  I suggested we use webcams to communicate this.  In my opinion, this was a task winning idea and everyone agreed.

When we arrived to the dog spa we were greeted by the owner and he was anxious to show us how to run the facility.  However, James had a better idea and kicked the owner out of our meeting so he could give a speech to the team about how he is basically willing to come down to our level so he can work with us.  He then assigns me to “decorate the entrance”!  I am the last guy that should be doing any sort of decorating and we were being judged on the value we could add to the services of the dog spa and the overall execution -not the décor of the entrance!  I did what I was asked to do and we ended up losing because of poor leadership.

What you don’t see in the boardroom is our entire team attacking James.  He set himself up for this by announcing how much smarter he thought he was than the rest of us – “he wasn’t used to working with people like us”.  Nobody on the team had anything nice to say about James or his management style to Mr. Tump.  The “highly educated” James was told by Trump that he would be wasting his time bringing me back into the boardroom.  The Donald went so far as to say “don’t bother bringing Wade back into the boardroom with you.  I will not fire Wade.”  He still brought me back!  What an idiot!

Needless to say we were all happy to see James and his penny loafers walk out of Trump Tower.

Bring on week 4…………..
