Why isn’t your home selling? It could be a number of reasons like price, condition, neighborhood and yes – maybe even your real estate agent. Here are three quick tips to sell your house today:
- Price your home ahead of the market. This means you need to be priced lower than your competition. Take the time to sort through your competition with your agent and be sure your home is priced slightly lower than your two nearest competitors. It sounds like you are giving money away but the longer you let your house sit on the market with comparable homes selling the more likely you will be overlooked and eventually have to sell for less.
- Clean up your act. Next to price, condition is the biggest reason homes do not sell. Remove clutter, put a fresh coat of paint on the walls, pull weeds, clean windows and have your carpets cleaned. This can all be done for a few hundred bucks and you will get a good return on the time and money invested.
- Re-evaluate your agent. I will be the first to tell you I am not the right fit for every home owner that wants to sell. Make sure your agents goals and your goals align. If not, move on.
